Methodology

Decision sourcing

Every decision links to a primary government source: a roll-call vote on senate.gov or clerk.house.gov, an enrolled bill on congress.gov, or an executive action published in the Federal Register. Neutral one-sentence descriptions. No characterization of bills as good or bad.

Citizen verification

In the MVP, email magic-link login is a placeholder. Production will layer a third-party citizenship + address verification step, enforcing one account per eligible voter.

Score calculation

Approval % per decision = approve votes ÷ total votes. The Aggregate Approval Score for an official is the equally-weighted average of approval percentages across all their decisions (composite approval index). Recomputed on every vote, no caching.
